​​​Located on the east coast of the South Island, Canterbury and its sub-region Waipara Valley produce outstanding cool-climate wines. The limestone and clay soils of Waipara, combined with warm nor'west winds, create ideal conditions for aromatic white varieties and elegant Pinot Noir. The region is gaining international recognition for its Riesling and Pinot Noir.
